Dr.
Jo Santamina was a consistent honor student. He
majored in Zoology in college and proceeded to
medical school, where he was in the top 10% of the
graduating class. He pursued internship in Internal
Medicine in Los Angeles County-University of
Southern California Medical Center, the nation¡¯s
largest general hospital. He trained to become a
neurologist in University of California, Davis
Medical Center in Sacramento and University of
California, Irvine Medical Center in Orange County.
After training, he joined a large multi-specialty
medical-surgical group in Northern California.
In 2004, he established
his own practice in the San Diego area, where he was
regarded as one of the most loved physicians, both
by his colleagues and his patients. He attended
several conferences and spoke in different meetings
and symposia. Because of his other passion which is
teaching, he later joined University of California,
San Francisco, where he had a short stint as an
assistant clinical professor to help train neurology
residents, interns and medical students. In the
latter part of 2009, he joined NeuroCare. In a short
time, he made an impressive mark and was nominated
as Most Valuable Physician of Simi Valley Hospital.
As a neurologist, Dr.
Santamina is highly trained to treat disorders of
the nervous system, which include diseases of the
brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles. He serves
as a consultant to other physicians and provides
long-term care to patients with chronic neurological
disorders. Dr. Santamina is an active member of
American Academy of Neurology which provides him
with the latest updates in the fields of neurology
and medicine. He currently practices in Simi Valley
and Thousand Oaks, both in Ventura County. Ventura
